TRIGON is Excellence

Our team, based in Modiin, Israel, competes in the prestigious FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), a global challenge where students design, build, and program robots in just eight weeks. This year, we have reached unprecedented success, ranking 11th out of nearly 4,000 teams worldwide. We proudly won ISR District 3 and the Israeli District Championship, the highest-scoring FRC district event to date, securing our place at the FIRST Championships in Houston.

Our commitment to excellence has also earned us prestigious awards, including the Innovation in Control Award, Excellence in Engineering Award, and Industrial Design Award.

TRIGON is STEM

TRIGON 5990 plays a vital role in the broader FRC community. We have directly supported over 15 teams, manufacturing robots, providing critical parts, and assisting with programming efforts through our open-source code. Specifically, we have manufactured major components for multiple teams' robots, provided essential parts to numerous others, and assisted teams with programming challenges, ensuring they can compete at their best.

Our efforts support STEM education at a variety of Israeli institutions. We play a critical role in developing the next generation of Israeli technical genius - which will lead to advancements in agriculture, health, social services, security and technology to benefit all of mankind.

TRIGON is Teamwork

Nobody wins FRC alone. Trigon 5990 has 35 team members, each of whom play their own particular role in our team's success. We have demonstrated the ability of 'mere' high school students to form cohesive teams that accomplish technical and management challenges on a globally competitive level. Of course, FRC's dedication to team building extends far beyond the individual team. Reaching the final rounds of an FRC championship requires working with a wide variety of other teams and eventually, in the knock-out rounds, it requires working closely with a group of 3-4 teams - each of whom will have dozens of members. FRC truly teaches people to reach across boundaries and work together to achieve goals.

TRIGON is Values

In 2023, TRIGON 5990 made international news when they withdrew from the world final in Houston's final day because it took place on the Sabbath (video below!). This year, TRIGON has a very high likelihood of qualifying for the finals again, and even placing near the top of the entire competition. After all, we are currently ranked 11th out of more than 3,700 teams.

Despite this, we will withdraw again.

When the stakes are the highest, we will again demonstrate our committment to something greater than winning. Our team will again serve as a remarkable Kiddush Hashem!
